AIR
CONDITIONERS
Air conditioners
are essential for comfortable living during the summer months.
Cold air is dry air – that is air without moisture. Air
conditioners are used for cooling and do use a fair amount of
electricity so select when in the market for an air conditioner
be sure and look for one that has a high energy star rating for
cooling. This rating will be found on a sticker attached to the
air conditioning unit as well as a tag attached to the unit and
on the box that the air conditioner is packed in.
Reverse cycle,
self-contained air conditioner chillers offer the advantage of
allowing consumers to turn modules in a variety of
combinations. Turning the modules, or air vents, either
horizontally or vertically allows consumers to direct the air
flow in specific directions. This feature can be found in
window units or air condition towers. Air conditioners work
best when room doors are closed from the areas that don’t need
to be cooled.
Many air
conditioners now come with remote control units, making it
convenient for consumers, especially those who may not be
ambulatory. Many models of air conditioners are now made with
digital thermostats which can be set, as with all built in room
air conditioners, to a desired temperature setting. The air
condition will then turn on or off when the room reaches the
desired setting.
Air conditioners
operational ratings are available between Rs 3,500 to Rs 6,000
per season. The optimum temperature for air conditioners is 24
- 28 degrees. When in the market for an air conditioner,
whether it be a window unit, tower or even an external unit it
is important that one invest research time to ensure that the
ultimate unit you purchase will be the one that meets your
personal needs.
